When I was young, I thought superstitions like good luck charms were silly. However, as I’ve grown older, I’ve realized that having something to believe in can affect your life in the most wonderful way, even if it’s just the act of believing in a good luck charm.

For the past three years, I’ve rarely shown up to any test or high-pressure situation without exactly two elastic hair ties on my right wrist. Honestly, I’m not sure exactly what started this trend of mine, but at some point around three years ago, I decided that having two black hair ties on my right wrist was more comforting than any words could be. Now, whenever I get nervous about something of any kind, I make sure to show up with my good luck charm.

I find that whenever I forget my two hair ties, taking tests or any kind of examination feels almost unnatural, which often leads me to perform slightly poorer. Therefore, I make sure to keep them with me when I need some luck. Silly superstitions can definitely turn into small comforts
