Fact or Fiction: A Bunny in the Police Force

Macy Schafer, Journalist

On Percy Avenue in Yuba City, California, a bunny was found by Officer Ashely Carson and handed over to animal control. Since they could not find a home for the bunny nor find his family or original home, the officer who had found him decided to adopt the bunny and named him Percy. Percy the bunny spent most of his time with the other officers in the police station. Soon after, the Yuba City Police Department announced his promotion to the rank of “wellness officer.” This took place a few days before Easter Sunday, which is how Percy got his nickname of the Easter Bunny. The bunny now goes back and forth to the police station with his owner and is a full fledged member of the force.
