Supermarket Simulator is a game made by Nokta Games that focuses on realistic retail work. In this game, you are the owner and manager of a small retail store, one that you have full control over. You’ll start out by ordering cheap, low-quality products for your tiny retail store, and as you continue to progress, you’ll have better, more expensive, higher-quality products, and a much, much larger area. The game gives the player complete freedom over how they want to play, from deciding where everything goes, to how you want your store to be run. There are dozens of different products to choose from, each one offering both pros and cons. One of the best parts of this game is the realism that it includes, an example being that if you set your prices too high on any certain products, customers will either rarely buy it, or won’t buy it at all. This happens the other way around as well, where if you set a product’s price extremely low, it’ll be bought very quickly. This offers the player a chance to make their own strategy on how they can get as much money as possible, as quickly as possible, whether that be through cheap products that sell fast, or expensive premium products that sell slowly but for high prices. As you continue getting better at the game and earning more money, you’ll be able to afford things like employees, that way you don’t have to do everything yourself like you do at the start. Despite that, you should make sure you spend your money wisely, because even though realism is cool and all, it also comes with taxes. If you end your day and can’t afford to pay the tax, then it’s game over, and you’ll have to restart the entire game. This is why you have to be keenly aware of how much you’re spending, and make sure you always have enough to pay the bills at the end of each work day. So if this game sounds fun to you, then give it a try, and make your retail store a massive success. | Holden Schafer
