I felt the breeze brush over my shoulder,
and the birds singing their graceful songs.
I felt the warmth of the sun upon my skin
as I heard the creaking noise of the wheels of my bike
flying down the hill.
As I turned around the corner, I saw the sun compliment the clouds
That slowly went on their travels into the night
I saw the orange sun glisten onto leftover puddles of a recent rainfall
As I rode right through them.
I heard the soft pant of my breath after running up
A hill to see a breathtaking view of fall in its true colors.
I even felt the gentle touch of the ocean
And it’s loud shouts of power.
This is what I learned over the summer.
I didn’t learn a new language,
I didn’t learn how to make money,
I didn’t learn how to draw like Picasso.
But I did learn how to take in the moment
And feel the colors, hear the sounds, and experience the scene.
I learned how to enrich my life,
And that’s one of the best things I have learned.
