Breaking Tradition

Breaking Tradition

This holiday has been one of the most confusing ones in my life. Like most families, mine has the traditions of eating together for the holidays, putting up the tree, and going to look at Christmas lights in December. This season, my family has been dealing with medical madness and just plain old weirdness, so this year just hasn’t been the same. However, I consider that a good thing. I think sometimes we put too much pressure on being perfect for the holidays, putting on that Christmas card facade that we all know too well. Being real for once is just refreshing. I will still be happy to spend the holiday with my family, but breaking traditions and maybe adding some new ones is an exhilarating way to spend the holidays.
