I never understood
the ways of the world
why people gamble and cheat
why wars rage on
and Hearts get broken
but we say
we all want Peace
how can We reach Peace
when there is no Trust
when the world is filled
with greed and lust
when fright is nightly
on the streets
and people hold knives
behind their Heartbeats
the world is broken
that’s for sure
how long of this
can We endure
how long until
We realize
that We can’t live like this forever
and if We
stay with this distrust
and lust
and never doing what We must
then We will never reach this Peace
that We all Dream about
