I like the quiet.
When it’s just you, absorbing the sounds–the chirping birds, the gentle wind, the hustle of the traffic in that far away land–around you, so it all boils down to you and the world: that sense of isolation brings a moment of calmness to me. For me, that’s what a break means from all my preoccupations and anxious deadlines that would come knocking at the door. It’s like dipping my face into the water: only the bursting bubbles accompany me. The quiet brings me a time and place for me to be all by myself.
It’s in those moments do all those swirling thoughts stop, however briefly, quieting down to the briefest whispers.
But how do I reach this realm of peace?
A cup of ice cream, a good book, gentle Lofi BGM, and a window. That’s it.
What about you – do you like the quiet?
