If you’re ever curious about who helps manage everything behind the scenes at Vestal High School, look no further than Barbara Gaylord. Ms. Gaylord has worked at the High School for 13 years, acting as a Senior Typist for three years. Before her time here at Vestal, she worked in Vermont as a part-time secretary. As a senior typist, Ms. Gaylord is responsible for working with students and staff, ordering materials, organizing schedules, as well as managing payroll. It should come as no surprise that someone as active and involved as Ms. Gaylord loves to travel and hike. She loves that her job is unique each day, as her responsibilities vary daily. Outside of school, Ms. Gaylord spends lots of time with her family and loves her new grandbaby, Sophie. All Ms. Gaylord asks of students is “to manage your things and keep your IDs on you at all times.” When you consider how much Ms. Gaylord does for the students and the school, this isn’t asking for much.
