Upon entering Commons, you’ll be greeted by a warm smile and a nice “Good Morning!” This voice belongs to none other than Ms. Arthur, who works as a paraprofessional. She is responsible for monitoring students, taking attendance, and being attentive to her surroundings. Not only is she constantly on the lookout for potential dangers to children, but she is also an outlet for many students around school. She says providing support for children is one of her favorite parts of her job along with hearing about their experiences. When Ms. Arthur was younger, she earned a brown belt in judo and in more recent years, she was a substitute teacher at the middle school before her current position. She has been employed at the high school as a paraprofessional for 10 years, and she originally applied to work here so she could be on the same schedule as her children. To make her job easier, Ms. Arthur requests students be responsible for themselves. This includes checking in for attendance and doing your work. Thank you for all you do, Ms. Arthur!
