Introduction:
Welcome to the BearFacts Music Department News column! I’m your journalist, Matt Zahirovich, here to give you the monthly scoop on the highlights of the Music Department this month, from upcoming performances in our variety of ensembles, performer and staff interviews and news on the upcoming musical, you’ll find it all here! But that’s enough yapping from me, here’s the highlights for this month!
Upcoming Performances:
The Vestal Voices will be hosting their Fall Cabaret this month on Thursday November 21st at 7pm there’ll be a multitude of different performances from members of the ensemble alongside a closing performance of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” from the whole group. All students and staff are welcome to attend this cabaret and it will be held in the VHS auditorium, see you there!
The District will be hosting their Choral Concert this coming Thursday on November 14th at 7pm, performers include our Concert Chorus and Vestal Voices alongside the VMS Chorus and all Vestal Elementary Choruses, including a return of a district classic with a performance of “Ask Me To Sing” by every group. Once more all students and staff are welcome to attend this concert and it will be held in the African Road Auditorium, see you there!
This may be a short list of performances for this month but don’t worry, next month in December will be loaded with performances! Remember to stay tuned for the next article in December!
Music Trip Information:
The Music Department will be having their trip this year to Williamsburg, Virginia! It will be a weekend long trip with sights galore, history to explore, and our biyearly music compeition. Such exciting events include a trip to the Busch Gardens, a tour of old Colonial Williamsburg, and an unforgettable dinner hosted on a cruise ship! There will also be a multitude of fundraisers to help our ensembles cover the trip expenses, be on the lookout for gourmet popcorn salespeople, gourmand chocolate merchants, and just good old Krispy Kreme Donuts peddlers.
