One valuable thing I’ve learned over the summer is that sometimes it’s for the better to let the ones close to you leave. Over the summer, I had a falling out with a majority of my friends over dumb drama we easily could’ve talked about. But, since we are teenage girls, and teenage girls tend to drag things on longer than we should, I knew that talking it out was out of the picture. At first, I will admit it was difficult. I spent my entire freshman year with them all; how could they all switch up on me so easily? But, after shedding a few tears and trying to talk it out with the small handful of friends I had left, I had an epiphany. I’ve already played my part. I’ve said my apologies, and if they don’t forgive me, it’s not my fault. It’s their own choice. Though it can be difficult to accept at first, you begin to find the people who are meant for you and who will stay regardless of the topic or “drama” at hand.
