On Monday, May 2nd, 2022, Vestal’s Unified Basketball team opened their season against the Maine-Endwell Spartans. The Bears topped the Spartans 32-22. Vestal had many great plays and baskets in the game. Elana Fitch had a three-pointer at the end of the game to help the Bears seal the victory. Both teams played very well.

On Thursday, May 5th, 2022, Vestal traveled across the river to Union-Endicott to battle their Unified Basketball team. Vestal had some really good plays, including baskets, defensive steals, and good passes. Jose Martinez had some great layups to get the Bears some points. Solomon Chen had some beautiful steals to get the ball, as well as some nice baskets. Dell King had some awesome shots for the Bears. Conner Weiskopff had an amazing basket to help Vestal seal the victory. The Bears topped the Tigers, 40-33. Both teams played really well.  

The Bears will next play Owego-Apalachin at Owego Free Academy on Monday, May 9th at 5:30. Next home game is Thursday, May 12th vs Norwich. Another home is Monday, May 16th against Binghamton. Come out and support your Vestal Unified Basketball team! 

Jeffrey the Bear (named by Conner Weiskopff), Vestal Unified Basketball’s mascot, came out as well to support the Bears from the sidelines.
