Senior Athlete Spotlight: Kay Farro

Senior Athlete Spotlight: Kay Farro

I had the chance to ask Kay about her high school sports career and this is what she shared:

Kay Farro has been a star for Vestal Softball and Field Hockey throughout her high school career. In softball, she is a 5 year varsity letter recipient and a Section IV champion. In Field Hockey, she is also a varsity letter recipient and she has been a part of the 2017 and 2021 Section IV Championship teams, the 2017 and 2021 Regional Championship teams, and the 2017 and 2021 State Finalist team.

Kay’s mother has played a big role in her athletic development. She, herself, was a star catcher, playing softball in high school and college. Kay says her mother helped her train and has inspired her to become the athlete she is today. Additionally, Kay says her favorite number to wear is #20 because that was the number her mother wore throughout her college career.

Kay’s favorite sports memory was when the Vestal team won the Section IV championship as the underdogs in our section in 2019. Although a 2-sport athlete, Kay has decided to continue playing softball at Oswego State as a pitcher and/or first baseman. Vestal couldn’t be prouder of you, Kay!
