This Thursday & Friday, the Social Studies Resource Rm. will be closed to Study Halls & Commons.  Only students that need to make up a test may report to the Social Studies Resource Rm.

 

The Future Business Leaders of America Club will be having a guest speaker, Mr. Joe Hashey from Synergy, TODAY at 2:45 PM in Rm. 181.

 

You may see Poppy flowers in school today that French Club members made and placed around the school.  The reason Poppies are used, is to remember those who have given their lives in battle. Poppies are the flowers which grew on the battlefields after World War I ended.  This is described in Flanders Fields, a famous World War I poem.

 

The Running of the Bears 5K Planning Committee will hold it’s first meeting this Friday, November 9th at 7:15 AM in Rm. 141.  All students or staff interested in helping to plan the race are invited to attend.  Please see Mrs. Darpino or Mrs. Schofield for more information.

 

Attention Students & VHS Staff – VHS Picture Retake Day will be on Thursday, November 15th during Physical Education classes and free periods.  Picture forms are available in the Social Studies hallway starting today, November 8th.

The Dig Blue for Liam Volleyball Tournament has been moved from Saturday, November 10th to Saturday, November 17th.  Sign up soon. First 10 teams only will be accepted.  The cost is $60.00 per team of up to 6 – 10 Players.

Attention Seniors – Please stop by the Assistant Principals’ Office this week to pick up important information   regarding ordering your cap & gown and announcements for graduation.   Take this information home and get your orders ready; a representative from Jostens will be here Wednesday and Thursday, November 14th & 15th, during lunch periods, to take your orders.  A $50.00 deposit is required for orders that are placed that total more than $50.00.

Attention Students – Are you interested in participating in Ski Club this year.  Stop by the Main Office or see Mr. Bowers for an information sheet on how to sign-up online.

Attention Students – Mark your calendars!!!  The all school King Bruin Dance is coming soon, and will be held on Saturday, December 15th from 8 PM – Midnight.  We have started the preparations for our 2018 Winter Wonderland.  Tickets will be sold the week of the dance (Monday, December 10th  – Friday, December 14th ).  NO tickets will be sold at the door.  Dance Guest forms for non-Vestal students are available in the Main Office and are due to the Main Office by Friday, December 7th.  Remember, all non-Vestal guests must be pre-approved by Mr. Kasson and no middle school aged students are allowed.

Volunteer Opportunity

 

Attention Students, especially seniors! – want to get a head start on those volunteer service hours?  The Vestal Holiday Craft Fair needs volunteers for Sunday, December 2nd.  The event is here at the high school and the volunteers are needed from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm.  You may work just a 2 hour shift or stay longer!  If you would like to volunteer, please go to the Counseling & Guidance Office to sign up TODAY!

 

Attention Students, especially seniors and NHS members! – looking for volunteer service hours?  The Discovery Center is looking for volunteers to help out at a few of their upcoming events. Saturday, December 1st is Breakfast with Santa.  Over winter break, December 31st thru January 3rd, their theme will be Animals and Saturday, February 2nd is Chinese New Year. If you would like to volunteer for any of these events, please go to the Counseling & Guidance Office to sign up TODAY!
